The Zero Hour Group ("ZHG", "we", "us") operates thezerohourgroup.com, a newsletter published through Substack, and the Zero Hour Group YouTube channel. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. We do not sell your personal information.
Analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site - pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser type, and how you arrived here. Google Analytics sets cookies to do this. This data reaches us in aggregate; we do not use it to identify individual visitors. You can learn how Google handles this data in the Google Privacy Policy, and you can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
Contact form and email. If you contact us through the site's contact form or by email, we receive the name, email address, and message you provide. We use it only to respond to you.
Newsletter. Our newsletter is delivered through Substack. When you subscribe, your email address is collected and managed by Substack under the Substack Privacy Policy. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any issue.
Embedded content. Pages on this site embed content from third parties such as YouTube. Those embeds behave as if you visited the third party's site directly and may set their own cookies, governed by their own privacy policies.
This site sets cookies through Google Analytics for the measurement purposes described above, and third-party embeds (such as YouTube players) may set their own cookies. You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings; the site remains usable without them.
The Zero Hour Group uses YouTube API Services to operate our own YouTube channel. By using any feature of our site or tools that interacts with YouTube, you also agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service. Google's handling of data in connection with YouTube API Services is described in the Google Privacy Policy.
Our API client is an internal publishing tool that manages our own channel only: it uploads our own videos and sets their metadata (titles, descriptions, thumbnails, and similar details). It does not access, collect, store, or share any data about other YouTube users or any third parties. The only credential it stores is our own OAuth refresh token, kept on our own machine; no user data of any kind is retained by the tool.
Anyone who has granted our application access to their Google account can revoke that access at any time via the Google security settings page.
We use the information described above to operate and improve the site, deliver the newsletter, respond to inquiries, and understand our audience in aggregate. We do not sell or rent personal information, and we do not share it with third parties except the service providers named in this policy (Google Analytics, Substack, our form-handling provider) or where required by law.
We keep correspondence only as long as needed to handle it. Analytics data is retained under Google Analytics' standard retention settings. You may contact us at any time to ask what information we hold about you or to request its deletion.
This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date at the top reflects the latest revision; material changes will be posted on this page.
